A man on the street is pointing up to the sky.
"Look, an angel!" he yells.
Passersby laugh.
"You fool, that is only a cloud."
How wonderful it would be to see angels
where there are only clouds.
How sad it would be to see only clouds
where there are angels.

Carter says that he would pick Trump over Cruz. Of course-then Republican Trump donated to Carter's reelection campagin against Reagan.RINO!— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
I love how the Trump cultists want to point Rubio or Cruz as the GOP "establishment". In fact, both senators beat establishment choices.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
Trump can threaten third party all he wants. The reason he dropped out of the 2000 Presidential campaign is the polls showed he would get 7%— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
According to Gallup, Trump's unfavorable number of 60% is the highest ever, even over GHW Bush, who got 38% of the vote in 1992.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
If you look at the RCP average, Trump has never been ahead of Clinton the whole campaign. He trails by 3, while Rubio wins by 5 & Cruz by 1.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
The right-fascist Trump movement even loses to the left-fascist Sanders movement by 6 points in the RCP average: Free stuff is more popular.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
Cruz is anti-establishment:Senate Majority Leader McConnell doesn't like him (re: Ex-Im), and past leaders Dole, Lott favor Trump over Cruz.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
Cruz' unfavorables are exaggerated. he is 37% vs. Trump's 60, Clinton's 52 and Rubio's 33 (Gallup, Jan). Trump has a net favorable of -27.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
Trump is for Trump. When confronted with evidence he contributed money to Carter in 1980: Are you sure I didn't also contribute to Reagan?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
How pathetic do you have to be to do what Trump did, donate to Hillary Clinton's campaign so she'll come to his latest wedding?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
If you're a politico coming to a Trump reception, what do you get the happy couple: an easement here, a zoning waiver there, condemn that?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016

Would you ever let a foul-mouthed, narcissistic, corrupt, snake oil salesman Donald Trump date your daughter? Why elect him your POTUS?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
George Will pens a masterpiece on Trump and Clinton; Clinton wants to build on Obama's record despite 71% unhappy https://t.co/8ZVFW4NM7u— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
Rubio & Cruz should reassess their focus on immigration.Only 10% SC consider it #1 issue;53% oppose mass deportation https://t.co/DkUtqbSLXs— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
The amusing part of Charles Koch's "Dear Bernie" letter was when he pointed out Koch is one of the largest ethanol cos. & opposed mandate.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
How do you convince young Sanders cultists that there's no such thing as a free lunch when that's their experience attending K-12?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
However, how much would these Sanders supporters pay out of their pockets for one of those tasty Michelle Obama lunch specials?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016
I once visited my brother in Beaumont. It was overcast at the beach, but his Asian friend said in a deep Southern drawl:Your legs are f*ed up.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 22, 2016

It's Trump vs. Rubio vs. Cruz: a triple threat match for the GOP title.Trump has the advantage:he won the hair vs hair match at Wrestlemania— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 23, 2016
Non-wrestlers Cruz and Rubio don't understand triple threat matches. The idea is to get Trump out of the ring so they can battle each other.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 23, 2016
Bob Dole, who had endorsed Jeb Bush earlier, endorsed Rubio. Bob Dole's support really made the difference for Jeb Bush.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) February 23, 2016

Entertainment Potpourri: American Idol Finale Season
I have been watching this season but for the most part on demand. It's getting to the point I don't even recognize most of the tunes being performed anymore. There was a time even a few years back I might even check the Billboard charts regularly. I know who Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and many other current hot acts are, but I'm not really impressed with their product. I think the ultimate absurdity was when Paul McCartney himself was turned away at the door from a post Grammy Party held by some young singer who is known for dating one of Bruce Jenner's daughters. Today I'm rarely interested in listening to new material except for say a new release by Elton John or Madonna.
One of the interesting twists of this season is they are bringing back some famous AI alumni--including, but not restricted to season winners. During the recent Top 24 shows, for instance, a number of alumni paired off with this season's contestants for a series of duets which made for some compelling performances. I'm embedding a couple of versions of the Elvis Presley staple "Can't Help Falling in Love with You". I have heard so many vocalists do this song, it's hard to put a new wrinkle on it. I do like the way alumnus Haley finished off the last few verses. The sleeper, though, is Mackenzie in an earlier solo performance. His interpretation is brilliant and compelling; it's hard to make a prediction this far in advance and it reflects my preferences, but I would be surprised if he doesn't make the finale, if not win it all. Famous last words.
