(Reason). Forcing anyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance runs contrary to the values the American flag is supposed to represent. Schools should be places for learning, not for mandatory displays of patriotism.
The State compelling allegiance to itself? There is little credible evidence that the student voluntarily committed to the pledge. The school must commit to constitutional principles, including free expression.
