I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.

@LostAtCollege The simple fact is that California is spending too much money, period, whether it's the criminal justice system or colleges.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Government causes the problem by subsidizing it. Lower net cost via FFA exacerbates demand, like the housing bubble #CollegeTuitionSoHigh— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
As a former professor, I know there are too many students who shouldn't be in college; others pursue dubious degrees #CollegeTuitionSoHigh— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
I got two degrees in pure math, with a second major in philosophy. Great GPA. I spent 7 months unemployed after my MA #CollegeTuitionSoHigh— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Let's get this straight: a kindergartener can't get a permit to carry her Frozen bubble gun, but they trust Deadeye Donald Trump?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
I pity the squirrel which humps Deadeye Trump's leg. Remember the duel between Burr and Hamilton? I want Cheney to go hunting with Trump.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Real life story: I worked for a client in 2010; a colleague posted a human target on the back of his office door, riddled with BB gun holes.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Once again, we see the "progressive" media going nuts over celebrity fashions produced in sweatshops, this time involving pop star Beyonce.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
No one is arguing sweatshop work is easy or well-paid, but you have to look at the local economy, job market, and standard of living.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
In the case of the Sun's female worker, she is making almost 50% more than the prevailing minimum wage. Those wages help build the economy.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
For many sweatshop employees, the choice is between a relatively well-paying job from a local perspective and no work at any price.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
The equal protection solution on draft registration is not to expand the pool to women but to abolish registration. Conscription is slavery.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Ilya Somin of Volokh Conspiracy has an interesting take on proposals to ban ignorant voters. Many, if not most Americans at birth incompetent— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Would any informed voter have EVER voted for Obama or Trump? OF COURSE NOT. Both are dangerous, economic illiterate authoritarians.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
I've vested literally thousands of hours researching policies, viewing both sides of any salient issue under discussion. My vote counts same— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
The sad truth is that naturalized citizens have to pass a citizenship test to get voting privileges. Many Americans by birth couldn't pass it— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
On immigration, I usually refer people to Alex Nowrasteh who is more familiar with the research methodology. But I'll comment briefly.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
If I had a nickel for every anti-immigrant who asks "what do you mean immigrants? Legals or illegals?" Government statistics target ALL.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
At the risk of oversimplification, to estimate unauthorized, you estimate all (e.g., Census) & then you filter out the documented authorized— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Of course, the methodology is easier said than done. But a simple Google search will yield relevant discussion from Pew Research and others.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
The bottom line on voting qualifications is the arbitrariness of drawing the line and even the incompetent should have a say in this system.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016

Jeffrey Tucker pens another solid FEE post on whether a Jew must bake a Nazi cake (no: Gary Johnson screwed up). Remember Jim Crow?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
The whole concept behind Jim Crow was to prohibit voluntary integrated transactions. If businesses wanted to discriminate no need for laws.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Christians often have different standards of behavior. For example, I was born and raised Catholic and my Mom has strict standards.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Mom expects her Catholic children and grandchildren to get married in the Church. She will not attend an alternative wedding service.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Mom feels that she would be betraying her values by implicit approval of alternative weddings by attendance. So if I ever got engaged...— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
If my hypothetical unfortunate spouse wanted a different wedding, my Mom would not attend. On the other hand my siblings probably would.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
I say "probably" because they might have other reasons not to attend (like my being a jerk) but the religious thing wouldn't bother them.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 21, 2016
Now if I were a baker, I would have no problem baking a cake for a gay couple.(My second sister LOL:she remembers my first batch of cookies)— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 22, 2016
But i believe that all transactions should be voluntary for both parties. I would not judge another Christian who decides differently.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) May 22, 2016

Powell on Myths to Immigration
Facebook Corner
(Reason). If William Weld wants the Libertarian Party to nominate him for the vice presidency, he'll have to explain his positions on Iraq, guns, and eminent domain.
I think that Gary Johnson needs to explain why he's in favor of conscripting bakers to gay couples.
(Independent Institute). Referencing the above Facebook video on immigration.
What kind of non sequitur double speak gobbledygook is this? Talk about not getting or talking about the wrong things.
The ONLY subject is ILLEGAL Immigration. Hell, we are almost ALL immigrants or descendants of immigrants.
And the economic and employment "PowerPoint presentation" fails to consider our federal government is $19 Trillion in debt, with about 35% of the expenditures going directly to social programs. Health, food, shelter, etc.
get real.
Economic illiterate hogwash. First of all, you don't understand how statistics on immigration are handled. Obviously unaurhorized immigrants don't go through some counter when they cross the border. We derive statistics on unauthorized (entry+overstays) Second, the only thing "illegal" about migrant workers is the fact Congress revoked a highly successful guest worker program in the 60's. They were warned at the time doing this would result in "illegal" crossings. Third, we have real world examples of what happens to the economy in terms of things like Castro's 1980 decision to allow a flood of refugees leave for Miami. Virtually no impact on Miami unemployment rates by a famous study. Fourth, you don't know what the hell you're talking about on social spending. In fact, unauthorized immigrants have shored up social security by nearly a trillion dollars for which they are ineligible,
Don't be a retard relying from garbage propaganda from FAIR and other anti-immigrant sources.
