Follow-Up Odds and Ends: The Carson/West Point Kerfuffle
Re: my earlier guest post
I assume that you have no personal first hand experience on the subject. It was available when Carson would have entered. It was not called "a program". It was, however, an option.
So you're saying the reason West Point instituted a med school program was because it already had a med school option? Pathetic. Here is a guy (Ben Carson) who could barely scrape up $10 for a college application fee who would have turned down the opportunity for a full-ride scholarship through med school? Because a guy who was in ROTC didn't like the idea of serving as a medical officer? This is a guy who was highly competitive--not only did he win admission to one of the most selective universities in America, but he had to kick ass as a pre-med student to get into med school. That doesn't even take into account how he could pay for it all given very limited family resources. He has openly admitted that he never even applied for a nomination to West Point. It seems odd that the same people who urged Carson to apply didn't seem to know about this alleged option.A Battle Against Ecofascism

Whar's clear is that the rest of the field is piling on Ben Carson and Marco Rubio, since it looks like Trump is clearly beginning to struggle in the polls. There's a question to what effect, if any, recent events, including Trump's SNL appearance, has on polling. For example, leftstream media reports on Carson's past could result in a sympathetic backlash by conservatives, not to mention massive free publicity for his campaign. But the first polls since the weaken show Carson edging out Trump by a point both nationally and in SC. The latter is particularly notable because until recently Trump had been lapping the field regularly by 15 or more points. Rubio and Cruz appear to be consolidating their hold on third and fourth place respectively, but they need to close a 10-point gap to be truly competitive with the frontrunners.
