Post #4543 M: The Virtue of Price Gouging; Massie on the Coronavirus Relief Bill Kerfuffle

Quote of the Day

My Wrestlemania Predictions

If you read my earlier post, I successfully predicted:

  • Owens beat Rollins.
  • Zahn successfully defended his Intercontinental championship over Daniel Bryan.
  • Strowman beat Goldberg in pretty much a squash match.
I was wrong in believing Raw women's champ Becky Lynch, who has held the belt since last year's Wrestlemania, might lose to former NXT champ Shayna Baszler, who had been booked as an unstoppable force in qualifying for the right to challenge Lynch (and had gnawed the back of Lynch's neck into a bloody mess in an earlier attack). I had speculated former RAW champ Ronda Rousey, a Baszler MMA ally, might interfere in a revenge angle. Lynch countered Baszler's finisher for the win. Now of course Lynch is a highly popular babyface champion, so Lynch retaining the belt is hardly surprising. Her narrow victory did not damage Baszler's build, and we can probably expect a return match in the future.
