whether it be literature or music or pictures or architecture or anything else,
is always a portrait of himself.

This is so hilarious; I wonder how many people realize HR 899 abolishes the Department of Education... Corrupt union hacks are so anti-DeVry, it's time to harness the power of that hatred for the common good.

(Reason). Show me your papers. DHS officials confirmed they "were sweeping up non-criminals in the vicinity who were found to be lacking documentation."
Am I surprised the anti-immigrant xenophobes are spamming this post? They are worshiping a century-old immoral majoritarian abuse of power, dishonoring our country's legacy of open immigration. They block each and every legal path, like the Bracero program, and then treat hard-working people like criminals for working around a broken-down immigration system, standing in the way of the freedom of association for employers, families and others.

Musical Interlude: My Favorite Vocalists

Tom Petty, "Woman In Love (But It's Not Me)". Okay, this is probably on my Top 10 list of singles and my favorite Petty tune. It's one of those songs (like Springsteen's "Candy's Room") which I consider perfect, wouldn't change a single glorious note.  I don't often buy an artist's albums (beyond greatest hits), but unbelievably it wasn't on his first greatest hit compilation. I thought maybe it was one of those hits, like the Beatles' "Michelle", which got a lot of airplay but never hit the charts, but it hit #5 on the rock chart.
