(Catholic Libertarians). When people tell me, "I don't see how you can be both a Catholic and a libertarian," I usually reply, "I don't see how I can be a devout Catholic and NOT be a libertarian." ~Mark
Not to play polemics here, but let's recall America's 4 bloodiest wars in the twentieth century were joined by Democratic administrations, and the guy who ran on having the judgment to oppose the second Iraq war had the judgment to double up on Afghanistain, more than doubling Bush's casualties in less time. Who can doubt his judgment--after all, the Soviets met with such sucess from a much nearer home base, right?

At least the neo-cons on the GOP let you know where they stand. The Dems are frankly hypocritical. Remember when the President in Name Only openly voted against raising the debt ceiling, against abuse of our privacy rights, opposed an individual health insurance mandate, promised to close Gitmo, intervened in Libya and tried to do the same in Syria, claims to support immigration but opposes liberalizing work perrmits, and the list goes on and on.

Let's recall: the Dems had a super-majority and the White House in the 111th Congress. What did they do to get us out of nation building? Obama not only didn't expedite Bush's schedule out of Iraq, he was trying to negotiate an extension. Did they cut off arming local police with military equipment? No. Heck, Charlie Rangel has been talking about bringing back the draft.

The GOP does have its problems but at least they pay lip service to restraining the size and scope of government....
