It's the parents' responsibility to look after their kids' diet and health. Most of a child's day is outside school where the State has no say over a student's diet or physical activity; and it's not clear why healthy kids should be arbitrarily restricted in their food choices, even assuming it's any of the Statists' business. If kids don't like the allegedly nutritious food that's offered, it'll get trashed, and I think it's more important the students have sufficient calories to get through the school day. At minimum, the federal food fascists should back off and let the schools have the flexibility they need to deal with the kids they are feeding and know what does/doesn't work.
