Post #4336 M: Political Correctness Gone Extreme; Tom Woods on the PC Narrative

Please Pray For Bruce

I've been regularly updating my journal format posts since early June when my UH PhD student office mate and good friend Bruce Breeding suffered 2 strokes, the second, more major one at the hospital. Bruce had two successful runs of rehabilitation therapy which ended when his job insurance ran out last month. He was transferred to a skilled nursing facility in his home Austin area when the other night he couldn't find the nurse's button for assistance going on a bathroom break and decided to go on his own. In the process, he fell, hitting his head sharply. This morning he had brain surgery to reduce swelling. Spouse Susan in her blog updates reported that he hasn't regained consciousness, that at some point he has suffered some mid-brain stroke. There won't be a follow-up surgery; they are hoping the condition will heal on its own, but Susan, an optimistic devout Protestant, explicitly noted that Bruce didn't want extraordinary measures to prolong his life and seems to be preparing their children to say goodbye. So I'm asking readers to say prayers for Bruce and his family during this difficult time. Bruce had made so much progress these past 4 months; one has to hope in the possibility of recovery. Bruce ie one of the greatest men I've ever met.
