The man who is so conscious of the rectitude of his intentions
as to be willing to open his bosom to the inspection of the world
is in possession of one of the strongest pillars of a decided character.
The course of such a man will be firm and steady,
because he has nothing to fear from the world, and
is sure of the approbation and support of heaven.

#HeterosexualPrideDay I am amused that someone has managed to get under the skin of the progressive victimhood culture. Get a life, people!— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
Is it just me, or does this election cycle seem similar to the 2008 campaign? Recall the McCain campaign was cash-poor, public financing.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
Obama who had accumulated a massive campaign chest declined public financing and vastly outspent the McCain campaign.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
I recall McCain had an initial lead in Florida, and the Obama campaign just flooded the state to the point of flipping the lead and kept it.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
The Obama campaign's financial advantage was a shock and awe takedown of McCain to the point McCain played defense the whole campaign.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
In fact, towards the end McCain not only mostly ceded battleground states, but the Obama campaign was aggressively targeting red states.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
So, 8 years later, the Clinton campaign appears to be replicating that same strategy across battleground states, while Trump stands by.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
Trump certainly won the nomination on the cheap, milking his celebrity status to the point of billions in free media coverage. Second act?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
Trump has foot in mouth disease. He tried to use Amb. Stevens' family to attack Clinton, and they condemned him for politicizing the death.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
I do think that Ambassador Stevens' death is a legitimate issue, because he was in an insecure location on the anniversary date of 9/11.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
I know the standard neocon talking points on Benghazi. But the larger issue is why we were involved in Libya and we had an insecure facility— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016

It's amusing see Trump trying to figure out how to combat Clinton on policy as Clinton has "evolved" to oppose TPP just like Trump "evolved"— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
The Trump cultists are getting all worked up over noted statistician Nate Silver, who correctly called all but 1 state correctly in 2008/12.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
Nate Silver gives Clinton a 79% chance of beating Trump in Nov. The Trumpkins point out Silver was wrong about Trump in the primary.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016

One interesting hypothesis is that the elites actually favor Trump's economic isolationism, which they see as making the US economy weaker.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016
In other words, Trump's misguided attempts to weaken the US economy through trade wars ironically play right into globalist strategies.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 29, 2016

Whitney Houston, "Try It On My Own". This is the last selection in my Houston retrospective. Just a note to curious readers: my selections are based on either Billboard rankings of hits or personal preferences for lesser known hits or tracks. Wikipedia discographies on artists have rankings, and I'm particularly drawn to hits placing in the Hot Top 40 and/or the Top 10 on the adult contemporary charts (sorry to those who prefer other charts like R&B or dance, but these are my criteria). These criteria do not guarantee selection if I don't care for the song, but I often include songs that I was not previously familiar with, including the last week or so of Houston's material. As I pointed out earlier, I am sometimes familiar with songs that got a lot of air play on A/C stations, like the earlier Jermaine Jackson duet ("If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful") or occasionally I bought the original album and liked an uncharted track; these selections, though, are more the exception than the rule. It's always possible that some tracks were omitted from the published discographies.
Next up: Michael Jackson.
