The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions
the little, soon-forgotten charities of a kiss or smile,
a kind look,
a heart-felt compliment, and
the countless infinitesimals of pleasurable and genial feeling.

I'm somewhat amused by a Facebook thread from one of my nephews, indirectly referencing the Orlando tragedy and trying to rationalize policy— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
One of the key points I was making is that public policy was counterproductive in safety, e.g., Florida is a state which restricts gun carry— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Almost all mass shootings take place in gun-free zones, where people are restricted from their right to self-defense & security identified.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
One of the things libertarians constantly point out after a high-profile tragedy is that both sides go into their formula policy scripts.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
One of my nephew's contacts is like,"I don't get this guy; his answer is to do NOTHING and let people die?" The same response on welfare net— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
No, the real danger is from the "we can't afford to do nothing" types like Barack Obama or the "high energy" demagogues like Donald Trump.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
If there is anything more odious than legislative sausage making, it's sausage making under panic: moral hazard, unintended effects ignored.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
I believe more in the combined effectiveness of over 320M American consumers and producers than the divinely-inspired policy of the 1% Feds.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
The DC Court of Appeals has given its approval to the fascist bureaucratic power grab over ISPs by the FCC, another anti-liberty betrayal.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Hearing Gary Johnson define libertarianism as "fiscally conservative, socially liberal" is demoralizing, sort of bumper sticker Muzak.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Running an oversized government more efficiently is not virtuous. Slavery is not more virtuous because one treats slaves better.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Second, I disguish classical liberalism from social liberalism.Classical liberalism includes limited government and tolerance of individuals— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Social liberalism unduly expands the mandate of government at the expense of fundamental individual liberty. Tolerance is not advocacy.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Judge Diane Bull has dismissed a key charge against David Daleiden, an investigative journalist looking into PP baby part sales transactions— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Harris County DA Devon Anderson (a Republican!) seemed to collude with crony special interest PP in a politically motivated ludicrous charge— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
Bloomberg shows Clinton with a double-digit lead over Trump nationally as once again Trump is having trouble hitting 40%. Remember 1992?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 14, 2016
"The share of likely voters who say they could never vote for [Clinton]-43 % -is much lower than Trump's 55 %."-Bloomberg Politics— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016
What did you give Trump on his 70th birthday today? Your middle finger?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016
I didn't even realize the Trumpkins were trying (and failed) to primary my Congressman, Mark Sanford, today. He didn't need my vote.— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016
I wonder what cronies profited from Trump's spending his businesses 4 times into bankuptcy? https://t.co/ZThZdeolmP— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016
MTP debunked Trump's hype that he was drawing "millions" of "new" Republicans. The majority of non-GOP Trump voters were national GOP voters— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016
MTP estimated that the net new Trump GOP voters amounted to about 6% not enough to flip battleground states Bloomberg 55% likely #NeverTrump— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016
Trump has suggested that soldiers disbursing funds in Iraq were corrupt. Will the military trust Trump as much as he trusts them?— Ronald Guillemette (@raguillem) June 15, 2016

Bad Elephant of the Year Nominations
This may seem obvious after the fact, but Trump's attack on Judge Curiel was blatantly unethical, and he seems a shoo-in to become a repeat winner of my mock award.
I am also nominating Devon Anderson, a Houston district attorney involved in an Alice in Wonderland charge of a pro-life investigation into Planned Parenthood's aborted baby part transactions. For me details, see here.
Jackass of the Year Nominee: Kamala Harris
Pro-abort California State DA (and likely Boxer successor) Harris has been involved in PP's fight against Daleiden’s Center for Medical Progress, which has been exposing the organization's sale of baby parts for profit. See above link
Bad Judge of the Year Nominee: The DC Court of Appeals
Surrender to the FCC's regulatory power grab over ISPs is an unconscionable betrayal of liberty.

Whitney Houston, "I Will Always Love You". Her 10th #1 (over 3 months in that spot) and perhaps her signature hit (it was also re-released after her 2012 passing and hit #3), It's actually a remake of a Dolly Parton country #1 from the 70's (and again in the 80's): the a cappella intro, the wailing sax, the epic chorus launch near the end--all made Parton's song her own. I remember Parton's original since I was a pop/country fan in the 70's; I still remember Porter Wagoner/Dolly Parton's syndicated TV series (even the buxom blonde's plugging detergent with a free towel inside the box): Dolly made the successful decision to go solo and wrote the tune as a parting tribute to her mentor, Wagoner.
