Being Classically Liberal). For those who don't know Ben Affleck pretty much called Sam Harris and Bill Maher racists for criticizing Islam. Do you believe Affleck is right or do you side with Harris and Maher? Watch the whole exchange here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vln9D81eO60
"Racism" is basically a generic epithet used by the self-anointed high clergy of political correctness. Give Ben a few more minutes he might also come up with sexism or homophobic.

(Being Classically Liberal). According to Islam a person should be executed for renouncing the Islamic faith. According to it, renunciation of faith is like treason, you know, because trying to overthrow a government is the same thing as renouncing your faith.
Scarily enough, a 2007 poll by Policy Exchange revealed that 31% of British Muslims believed that leaving the Muslim religion (apostasy) should be punishable by death.
"A survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2010 found relatively widespread popular support for death penalty as a punishment for apostasy in Egypt (84% of respondents in favor of death penalty), Jordan (86% in favor), Indonesia (30%), Pakistan (76%), Nigeria (51%), and relatively minor support in Lebanon (6% in favor) and Turkey (5%). Another survey conducted by Pew Research Center in 2012, among Muslim populations in select Islamic countries it was allowed to conduct a survey, found continuing support for death penalty for anyone who leaves Islam to become an atheist or to convert to another religion. Death penalty for apostasy in Islam was favored by large majorities of pro-sharia Muslims in Egypt (86%), Jordan (82%), Afghanistan (79%), Pakistan (76%), Malaysia (62%), Palestinian Territories (66%); and a significant percentage of Muslims in Lebanon (46%), Bangladesh (44%), Iraq (42%), Tunisia (29%), Tajikistan (22%), Indonesia (18%) and Turkey (17%)."
In 2011, 20 countries across the globe prohibited its citizens from apostasy; in these countries, it is a criminal offense to abandon one's faith to become atheist, or convert to another religion. All 20 of these countries were majority Islamic nations, of which 11 were in the Middle East. No country in the Americas or Europe has any law forbidding apostasy and restricting the freedom to convert to any religion. Furthermore, across the globe, no country with Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, agnostic or atheist majority had any criminal or civil laws forbidding or encouraging apostasy, or had laws restricting an individual's right to convert from one religion to another. (In 9 of these countries apostasy gets you the death penalty).
Before someone accuses me of Islamophobia, let's recognize the fact that I've only reported statistics, I haven't personally made any claims about Muslims as a whole.

At most, they adapt to some generic Western culture influenced primarily by Corporate America.
Oh, come on now. The culture is primarily influenced by Corporate America? The 60's anti-war movement was motivated by crony Big Peace? What happened to all-powerful crony Big Peace? It didn't stop Middle East meddling when Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and had a supermajority Congress.

Oh yeah, and what about the sexual revolution? Was it all a Playboy master plan? Listen, young people have ALWAYS rebelled against authority; it's part of growing up.

Of course, the Old Testament is replete with actions for which death is prescribed, including apostasy and proselytization (see rationalwiki). Christians have held these disciplines were superseded by Christ's higher moral message. It's clear that Jesus did not favor extreme measures (e.g., the intended stoning of an adulteress, the prodigal son, etc.); at the same time, He was not unduly concerned that His hard words were losing followers and in sending out His missionaries told them if they came to an unreceptive place to shake it off and move on.

Of course, we all know about the Inquisition and wars among Christian nations, and yes, some European explorers. Pius III's Sublimus Dei addressed basic rights of indigenous peoples of the Americas. But let's not kid ourselves: the concept of maryrdom between Christianity and Islam is radically different; suicide is unacceptable, and Christians are told to love our neighbors.

(Being Classically Liberal). The meme is wrong in the fact that Republicans clearly don't support abortion. Everything else is pretty spot on. The only republicans I really like are Ron and Rand Paul.
Really? Name one goddamn Democrat who would vote for party founder Thomas Jefferson today.
Republicans who are not religious support women's right to choose. You cannot kill something that hasn't been born.
Abortion is not a religious issue. In fact, the Hippocratic oath from ancient Greece prohibited abortifacients. The unborn child has DNA distinct from his mother from the point of conception, a scientific fact.

Spot on. Amash and Massie are the best. Mike Lee isn't bad either.
Most popular among Republicans,
Ted Cruz:
- Against illegal NSA domestic spying
- Abolish the IRS
- Abolish the TSA
- Audit the Federal Reserve
- Abolish Export-Import Bank
- "Reluctant to use military force"
- Against illegal drone strikes
- Against subsidies
- Vocally against all crony capitalism
- Let states decide marriage and abortion according to the 10th Amendment
- Does NOT support the drug war (contrary to popular belief based on out of context statements)
- Against U.N. Agenda 21
More importantly, he's sounded pretty neocon over ISIS and has spoken of stripping US citizenship based on ISIS linkages. He's been a bit too populist and his filibuster against ObamaCare funding was more self-serving. Granted, he'll talk War Powers on Obama's ISIS policy, but it doesn't square with his rhetoric.
