(Reason). A Massachusetts woman faces wiretapping charges for using her smartphone to record police officer who were busting her for disorderly conduct and possessing an open container of alcohol.
I don't think a police officer, acting in his official capacity has any reasonable expectation of privacy; it would not be in the interests of transparency, accountability or the rule of law for the police to intimidate a citizen from gathering salient evidence given law enforcement's discretion to make an arrest. It seems to me obvious that any state law interpeted in a way that inhibits the First Amendment would be constitutionally suspect given the Fourteenth Amendment.

(in response to a young relative's post about the disparate treatment of a well-known pro football quarterback whom has been open about his Christian faith and ridiculed in the mass media and a recent NFL draft choice whom is openly gay and gave his boyfriend a nationally broadcast kiss):
"Hatred" is a code word by politically correct hypocrites to judge other people whom don't share their "values". You can be tolerant of gays without buying into advocacy agendas.

(IPI). After months of hounding by Illinois legislators, the Illinois State Board of Education has finally released a preliminary analysis of Senate Bill 16, a proposed education funding bill that completely transforms how the state distributes money to local districts. Proponents of the bill say the bill makes education funding more equitable. But, as many suburban legislators feared, their districts get hit hard by the changes.
"Equitable" is "progressive"-speak for "redistribution".

Political Humor

A new study claims that 1 in 10 Americans no longer carry cash. They’re called English majors.  - Seth Meyers.
[But 10 out of 10 Americans carry national debt. They're called babies and other young people.]

Here’s a crazy story. A woman was detained this week after she joined the mile-high club on a Virgin Air flight from London to Las Vegas. But the guy she was in there with was NOT detained on the flight. How typical. The guy gets off, but not the girl. - Jimmy Fallon
[Bill Clinton always gets VIP treatment... By the way, can you have a mile-high club on Virgin Air?]
