Pandemic Report

The latest CDC weekly stats:

There's no way to sugarcoat across-the-board bad stats including a worsening test positivity rate well into double digits and wastewater concentrations up across the country. High profile infections include Sen. Fetterman (D-PA) and a couple of US Olympic male swimmers. Apparently infections have been up enough that CVS has run out of testing kits at s number of locations.

Relevant news items include:

  • There seem to be ongoing protests against unpopular COVID era policies, in this case, Germany
  • Mucosal/nasal vaccines have proven to be highly successful so far in animal studies to do something not true of approved COVID vaccines to date: stop transmission of the virus.
  • Prosecutors continue to pursue COVID era fraud cases including
  • Virginia Tech researchers report that COVID-19 is rapidly spreading across area wildlife, raising concerns of mutation and zoonotic  transfer

Other Notes

Blog statistics continue to be at an elevated, suspect nature pace. My Twitter/X published tweets remain near account lows and limited impressions.

As I write this post. WWE is running its second biggest PLE, Summerslam. A a fan, I liked most of the outcomes, especially Breakker's getting the Intercontinental title and LA Knight the US title. Not a CM Punk fan and his storyline obsession of foiling McIntyre's title chase. I groaned when I saw Logan Paul resort to brass knuckles in trying to save his title from Knight. Watching the Judgment Day seemingly imploding with Balor's intervention in Gunther's victory over Priest a JD co-lead. Dom's betrayal of Ripley in her challenge loss to  Morgan for her former title. Of course, the highlight was Roman Reign's long-anticipated return which ironically helped Rhodes retain his former championship. I had heard Sikoa go after Reigns over betraying the Bloodline with his Wrestlemania loss to Rhodes. It was clear that Sikoa was going to pay a price to the Original Tribal Chief
