I haven't lived in my home state for years although I've visited or driven through the state almost annually. I think the first I heard of the famous convenience stores was when one of my nephews gave me some of their snack foods as a Christmas gift, something like jerky or pork rinds. I think I finally visited one off I-30 in Texas on the way to Arizona from SC, mostly for gas and a rest break, probably grabbed something to eat and drink but I didn't spend much time there given my long drive ahead
