(Ron Paul). A little note from my wife, Carol:
Here's a photo of G. Ron and his great-granddaughter Caroline looking at G. Ron's peach tree......
It started in the house and G. Ron asked her if she knew what a peach is and she said "fuzzy" then he said "do you know where they come from"? She answered immediately "from the store"! Where before that? She didn't know so they went outside to his little tree where he had two peaches last year and he showed her the little blossoms where the peaches will be. She is just 4 but was very interested. A fun thing to share on a sunny day in Texas.
I expect that G. Ron then explained to sweetie Caroline where bananas came from and how we can import counter-seasonal fruits like peaches during the winter.

This begs the question: where did the person who didn't earn the money get the money from? Another question would be who decides what is selfish?
When individuals consume, save or invest, they do in a competitive market; government is a monopoly which plunders at the expense of the general economy. This is a famous distinction made by Bastiat--the things seen, the things unseen. What would happen if government didn't fritter away trillions on various wars and failed domestic programs, which truly serve one class--the self-serving bureaucracy. I call it "trickle-down government". Government officials aren't vested in efficiency of plundered assets; it's not their money. Why rob those who are economically successful, who know how to efficiently deploy capital, organically growing the economy and related jobs, i.e., the property owners, the taxpayers, and are vested in it?

Now do you want me to next cut the meat on your plate?
