Not only is Donald Trump s former registered Dem who supported Clinton and then Obama in 2008, a RINO by definition, but he ran for POTUS under the Reform Party in 1999-2000. Christie, unlike Trump who never won a blue state in 2 elections, won reelection in his blue state.

Chris Christie was arguably the hottest politician in America around 2010 and probably would have won the 2012 nomination. I left the GOP over RINO Trump's 2016 nomination. I would vote for Christie but never Trump
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 22, 2024
Liar! Like me, a former Republican who left the party over RINO Trump's nomination, Christie would NEVER vote for a leftist like Harris. The LP's Chase Oliver will be on Christie's ballot. Or he could write in a more qualified Republican, like himself.

The world has changed since The Population Bomb. Isn't it amazing what liberalizing the global economy can achieve voluntarily without Ehrlich's alarmist "solutions" of putting sterilizing agents in food and drink or surtaxing "extra" kids or baby goods. https://t.co/pGNcJsubZD

It turns out I'm not the only one who lost money under Trump.

What I don't understand about this election is how someone who got 3% of the Democratic primary vote in 2020 and has had the lowest VP job approval rate ever has just totally flipped her favorability numbers over a month. I realize she would have a honeymoon, but it is sticking

I don't understand why people are responding to a parody Musk account suggesting he wants to return to the People's Republic of California.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 23, 2024
"Stay in Texas"
Amusing. The half-point cut by the Fed has more to do with an alarming employment trend than inflation returning to pre-COVID trend. The incumbent party should be worried.

Could Trump win any second debate? I doubt it. He's always lacked self-discipline and he surrounds himself with losers who tell him what he wants to hear.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 23, 2024
Trump's position against a second debate is rather self-defeating. Like it or not, he's behind in the polls and people are starting to vote; Harris is locking in her advantage. He needs the debate more if he has any hope to win over independents.

My latest post is the first of an annotated review series of the Trump/Harris debate.https://t.co/MJJSPTGylB

Ironically, I left the Democratic Party during my first faculty appointment. Even fellow business school professors were mostly progressives. I was a rare libertarian-conservative. https://t.co/hBst8uotSb

I always admired Nebraska and Maine for awarding an elector to the district plurality winner among Presidential candidates. I think every state should do that, with the state plurality winner getting the 2 senate electors. Note the Dems will never allow it.

"Senator McDonnell"
Kamala Harris may well rue the day the filibuster ends and the GOP controls the Senate. What's absolutely stupid is Harris thinking codification of Roe is constitutional. Where did she get her law degree? Trump University?
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 25, 2024
Rubbish! Bush has refused to endorse Trump or Harris, both unworthy of the Presidency. Trump has been personally attacking the Bushes since at least 2015. The fact George Bush wrote in Condi Rice in 2020 and didn't vote for POTUS in 2016 speaks volumes. I join in his hat trick. https://t.co/fgYjQMCJcK
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 25, 2024
One of the weird aspects of this election is how Harris as the incumbent seems to be winning the change election vote. I think Trump as a recent ex-POTUS is being perceived as an incumbent. Almost any other Republican would be beating Harris.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 25, 2024
Ending the filibuster would allow a bare majority to impose its will over a divided government and people' it reduces the incentive to compromise, a double-edged sword which could backfire on a Democratic President.

Abortion legislation requires a constitutional amendment.
One of my pet peeves with Blogger is I've sometimes accidentally typoed a select all and unintentionally wiped out a detailed post without some interim restore point . I wish I could snapshot a draft.

Wow. the AGT voters screwed up. They chose some old dude who sang Journey songs without Steve Perry's pipes. I'm a nerd so naturally I rooted for Sky Elements. But as a second choice I would have gone for the dog act.

Wow, Spitzer. Weiner. Cuomo. And now Adams. New York almost makes Hillary Clinton look like an honest politician.

"Eric Adams"
It would not surprise me if Trump had hid evidence among Melania's things. Go look at Institute for Justice's videos. You'll see things like destructive searches for mistaken identities and the government won't reimburse. She married a crook. There are consequences,

You knew somebody was going to do a parody. The insane moron who once bragged about his genitals in a GOP debate became a living Internet meme alleging Haitians eat pets.https://t.co/D0nCmOOKoo

During Monday night football, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, now a starter, got his first career interception. If his name seems familiar, he had a cardiac event a couple seasons ago in Cincinnati, and anti-vaxxers falsely claimed it was due to a vaccine shot and he had died
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 27, 2024
Oh, you'll love the filibuster if somehow Harris wins the White House. The GOP is almost a lock to pick up West Virginia and Montana, which is all they need for control. Your hope of course would be hypocritical. Harris' agenda would be DOA.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) September 27, 2024
There is one exception I'm aware of: George W. Bush's failed steel tariffs before Trump's, also for protectionist purposes. Bush, like Trump, didn't see the economic damage done to steel-consuming industries, including job losses. The WTO ruled against the tariffs (withdrawn).

I got my MD mail-in ballot today. I had been concerned since the website said days back the ballot had been sentm and I wasn't familiar to the process of obtaining a replacement ballot. I've been waiting a long time to vote against Trump, Harris, and Alsobrooks.

I'm done with Stevie Nicks. Her pro-abort anthem is morally repulsive and contemptible. It takes courage to speak for the innocent, for children not your own.

I have to say the fourth quarter of Alabama/Georgia, mostly dominated by Georgia's offense, was probably the most entertaining I've seen in a long time. Congratulations, Alabama. I thought Georgia was done at halftime, but I was wrong.
