Pandemic Report
The latest CDC weekly stats:
As the trend chart shows, half the states are declining after recent highs, although Texas and a few mid-Atlantic states show the spread growing. Levels of the virus remain high, and I encourage those who have gotten the updated shots from last summer and fall to do so

Other Notes
The blog continues to attract hundreds of pageviews daily. I'm working on a post on the voter ID kerfuffle, more in reaction to Musk's obsession with the issue. probably to be published over the weekend. At one point. X flashed a stats tease indicating I had pulled about 2.3K impressions over the prior week, implying a weekly gain over the last tease by a K, but most tweets probably fail to get double digits, even with maybe 210 followers.
Maybe it's an inevitable part of aging. From March through May, I had a hospital stay plus rehab that pretty much kept me out of the job market. Even after that, I had in-home follow-ups from nurses and others, maybe up to 2-3 times a week And more recently. I've had 3 week-long ailments, including the norovirus (not formally diagnosed). I recently had a follow-up on a nagging issue since last March. I had a diagnostic from a neurologist, and he referred me to a surgeon in the same hospital complex. Long story short, the consultation was hampered by the fact that the hospital has some integration issues in sharing results. Or maybe they needed some nuances in the testing.
As I write, I'm watching one of Peacock's few remaining WWE PLEs: Saturday Night's Main Events. (They also carry NXT PLEs.) I have to make a decision whether it's worth it. As widely expected, Sami Zayn won a 4-way challenger match to champ McIntyre's first title defense at next weekend's Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. I refuse to pay a $30/month ESPN nsubscription for WWE PLEs.
