Pandemic Report
The latest weekly stats from CDC:
Clearly the winter surge has largely tailed off at least overall nationally since my last report over a month ago, Congressional Republicans and the White House are trying to claw back unspent state/local federal COVID relief funding. NIH is cutting back research arguing the pandemic is over. The military has started rehiring those who refused a COVID vaccine, including backpay, although that may require a multi-year commitment and deduction for any interim income, Novovax's COVID vaccine approval got deferred. Military games in China in Oct. 2019 reported early COVID-like illnesses.

More Notes
A recent month-long hiatus from the Internet interrupted all but a couple of prescheduled blog posts. A family member finally retrieved a laptop and cellphone and I've been able to resume publication on Blogger and X.
I'm not going to discuss the details of my health incident, which lasted probably 2-3 days (my bedroom alarm has 2 settings daily). My cellphone had been unavailable during the incident, preventing an emergency call. so I became obsessed whether I was close to a heart attack or even possibly facing my mortality. What led to my medical rescue was an unexpected knock on my door. From others, it seems that an ISP cable rival was doing an unsolicited sales call. I pleaded through the door for the stranger to call emergency services, which probably saved my life, thanks to this kind-hearted stranger. I am in the process of recovering in a rehab facility.
