This mock annual award of Dems behaving badly is one of my blog's traditional signature posts. My original intent was to make Sen. Menendez (D-NJ) a repeat "winner" I also considered Hunter Biden's egregious influence peddling schemes worthy of nomination.

The reason I chose nurse practitioner Ms. Gibson is an issue political parties have had with poorly vetted candidates, an obvious reference being the recently expelled GOP Congressman George Santos. In this case. it turns out the opposition discovered and exposed Ms. Gibson and her husband had performed live sex acts on Chaturbate, a Porn site.  Ms. Gibson refused to withdraw, effectively arguing the revelation made her the victim of "dirty politics". She tried to tie the exposure as a violation of her right to privacy and her right to control her own body; Her pro-abort campaign was largely focused against GOP Gov. Youngkin's proposed 12-week window for elective abortion.  Despite Gibson's loss to David Owen, the Dems did flip the lower chamber of delegates and defended their control of the state senate. It's difficult to argue Owen's 2-point victory in a competitive district was due to the porn issue.

Voters can and do decide elections based on character and perceived fitness for office, and it's been that way at least as far back as Adams/Jefferson in 1800. It's difficult to understand how a politically ambitious person could not anticipate her past porn decisions would not resurface in the Internet age and likely damage her candidacy. Especially since Dems have obsessed over sexual allegations made against Clarence Thomas, Kavanaugh, Donald Trump, and others.
