Not a chance in hell. He can try to negotiate tariffs but he can't unilaterally impose them, something only Congress can do and cannot delegate, any more than he can enter a treaty on his own or declare war pic.twitter.com/rSsIpLeMm1

George W. Bush was the last POTUS to attempt social security reform. Neither party is willing to raise payroll taxes; Dems want to fund it by removing the cap on income subject to payroll taxes & Republicans want to impose some cost constraints, e.g., raising the age eligibility.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 17, 2025
We have been on a pay-go system, meaning current worker payroll taxes fund all or a portion of current benefits. Workers' taxes haven't been enough since 2021, meaning the SSA has to dip into reserves. If financing isn't fixed by 2033, up to a fifth of checks may be trimmed. pic.twitter.com/R1pmjEcajq
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 17, 2025
Trump basically shields more Social Security income from half of the beneficiaries who pay some taxes on their checks. But Trump, by not reimbursing the reserve for the lost taxes, hastens the day of reckoning. He doesn't care because the reserve won't dry up on his watch. pic.twitter.com/LMhOyXpfJE

Most of us who are salaried don't earn tips or get paid OT, so Trump's socialist gimmicks shift the burden to us & future taxpayers. Trump is not smart or honest enough to explain why some well-off seniors have had to pay taxes on a portion of their distribution (employer share).
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 16, 2025
Reviewing the earlier WH claim, Trump's unprovoked tariffs are "reciprocal" because of "unfair" treatment of American products (as if "buy American" is just!), I sometimes refer to real retaliation as Newton's Third Law of Trade: for every Trump action is an equal response. pic.twitter.com/DMmNlQf1xz
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 18, 2025
Trump has argued that the US has been a victim of "unfair" trade practices. He has lost that moral authority when he sabotages the WTO appellate court. There's only one logical explanation for sabotaging the court: he knows that his grievances won't survive independent scrutiny.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 17, 2025
The Trumpkins are pathetic liars; they think their reinvented terms ("reciprocal tariffs") sound legitimate to other gullible people. No, Trump's illegal, unconstitutional tariffs aren't reciprocal; he not only started a global trade war; he's openly violated GATT/WTO treaties.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 17, 2025
As if there is any need to further debunk Trump's rationalization of his immoral unilateral trade war, note his attempts to weaponize trade for non-trade disputes. like Brazil's prosecution of a former president, China's alleged supplies for fentanyl production. and migration.

Wrong! Nationalism and manipulative slogans are heresies in our federal republic. A legitimate government doesn't intrude on a business and its choice to hire talent, regardless of the current residence of that talent.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 18, 2025
I understand why Trump is desperate to gerrymander as many GOP seats he can from red states prior to midterms. He lost the midterms in his first midterm, he just got swept in the off year elections, the Dems are consistently winning the generic ballot and his approvals are down.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 18, 2025
I'm making particular reference to this incompetent post by the RINO Felon-in-Chief. He is abusing Presidential authority, an impeachable act. I'm not talking about candidate advocacy but the process of meddling in state elections reflecting his own political self-interest. pic.twitter.com/1McXN7VLql
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 18, 2025
As usual, Trump is constitutionally incompetent. Congressional apportionment, like individual rights, is based on persons/residents, not citizens. We fought a revolution over the principle of taxation without representation. Aliens are entitled to fair treatment under our laws pic.twitter.com/ZHYH6AZKoR

Apparently, Switzerland resolved Trump's "economic emergency" 39% tariffs down to 15% after giving him "a Rolex gold watch and a specially engraved gold bar from Swiss-based gold refining company MKS" (via BBC). No, we know that Trump is against corruption, right? pic.twitter.com/Itq5c3HZGp

We don't need a crony capitalist as POTUS. This "dealmaker" presided over the 2 longest shutdowns in American history. He needs to do his job, not dabble in unnecessary indulgences.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 19, 2025
I seriously don't get why Trumpkins admire an overgrown primary school bully who literally calls a reporter "piggy". When I was in second grade Catholic primary school, a sister/nun washed my mouth out with soap for talking back to a hall monitor. At 6, I was more mature than him
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 20, 2025
I don't understand how someone like Musk or Megyn Kelly, victims bullied by Trump, present their other butt cheek for him to kick, saying, "Could I have some more, please?"
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 20, 2025
When Fox News, a big source of Trump's Administration, has his job approval at 41% less than a year into his final term, he's in big trouble heading less than a year from midterms. I don't think he'll be able to gerrymander his way enough to keep the House.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 20, 2025
Apparently, Governor/Ambassador Nikki Haley's son Nalin has some unconstitutional criteria for excluding naturalized citizens from elective office. About 7% of citizens are naturalized, but only about 4% hold office. Nikki isn't the only one with a bonehead son; consider Trump.

Trump is intentionally omitting the facts that his own administration closed the Epstein case over the summer, and he had campaigned on the promise to release the files. The case was open under Biden:

The definition of corruption must be clear. Yes, Trump abused his power for his own gain in both impeachments, falsifying business records for the payment of hush money, stealing Presidential papers, etc. But at minimum, Grant and Harding were even more corrupt.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 20, 2025
Nope. A POTUS lacks the authority to abolish a department unilaterally. This was made clear in the now defunct Overman Act. pic.twitter.com/ym4KyLQtGY

Trump is threatening Democratic federal legislators (military veterans) with arrests over "sedition" for arguing active personnel have a duty not to obey illegal Trumpkin orders, even possible capital punishment. "Bone Spurs" Trump was never in the military & doesn't have a clue.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 21, 2025
Trump hasn't done a damn thing about melting senior entitlement reserves, which could result in 19% cuts in retirement checks in less than a decade, with a shrinking worker/retiree trend in a paygo system. Trump is growing the national debt by over a trillion annually.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 21, 2025
No. He played a successful businessman in that fake reality series.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 21, 2025
On the face of it, the Democrats are correct in theory. However, the context suggests that Trump has been issuing unauthorized orders. In the military, you generally need to maintain discipline and perform what you've been ordered to do unless there's compelling evidence.

Most of us veterans realize that following orders is necessary for military discipline. The Dem legislators who are veterans did not imply personnel can reject legitimate orders. Trump has a record of noncompliance with the Constitution and the law.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 22, 2025
The RINO Felon-in-Chief is engaging in knowing distortion. The Bonehead-in-Chief is intentionally ignoring the exceptions to following orders (Article 90 of the UCMJ), i.e., Article 92. Examples of illegal orders would be an unprovoked attack on Venezuela without Congress.

Make America better: reject Trumpism.

Wrong number.

No. Trump's unconstitutional tariffs have killed our standard of living, destroyed economic growth, and eroded job growth.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 22, 2025
No. This nationalist heresy is an unconscionable, unconstitutional taking of property rights and the liberty of my right to exchange. If I own a business, I have a right to hire. If I decide to hire a foreigner, it's none of your business.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 22, 2025
This is bullshit. Trump has a history of doing unconstitutional and illegal things all the time. All of his tariffs are unauthorized and violate GATT/WTO, ratified by Congress. He is weaponizing the Justice Department against political opponents. He makes unprovoked attacks.
— raguillemette (@raguillemette) November 22, 2025

House Republicans haven't said a word while Trump has acted unconstitutionally without provocation in attacking other countries.

I had to Google the tweet because I worried it was done by a parody account. Trump is really delusional, in a state of denial. These are the latest average poll numbers. The red line is disapproval. His net disapproval is at the highest of his second term: https://t.co/SieJULk3T3 pic.twitter.com/LB8KEmF1vW
